A collection of my poems.
If we humans do not stay.
Is it dark for me to say
the world will be ok
when humans are gone?
That ivy vines will intertwine with our once concrete space.
Animals will peek out from their long-lived confinement.
Between the sidewalk cracks that I once jumped over as a child will sprout new life.
And weeds we once pulled out will become a lifeline for rebirth.
Humans became the most invasive species on earth.
We multiplied and sucked the life out of everything we touched.
We thought the world was a resource for our pleasure.
That the life on earth was all created for us to enjoy and take.
But we were misguided by greed.
Our traditional knowledge was taken by Kingdoms many generations ago.
A system of infinite consumption replaced it.
We took too much and gave too little.
So we lost our way to stay.
Like every other living creature, we were invited to earth by our birth.
We are here as a guest.
And like every living thing, we have a role on earth.
Our duty was to help keep the world in balance.
To never take more than we needed.
To save for seven generations after us, everything we touched.
To respect all life on earth.
Today I looked out at the rising river around me
and said softly, "the world would be ok if we humans do not stay.”

Enough
When the wind is still,
and the air falls silent,
I feel not enough.
In the space of the stillness,
I feel not enough.
When the wind picks up
and the world is violent with sounds,
I feel like I can hide,
and the noise will overshadow my flaw.
No one will see
that I am not enough.
and the air falls silent,
I feel not enough.
In the space of the stillness,
I feel not enough.
When the wind picks up
and the world is violent with sounds,
I feel like I can hide,
and the noise will overshadow my flaw.
No one will see
that I am not enough.
Mantra of a corporate women
I am strong.
I am independent.
I do not need anyone to succeed.
My career is my most significant achievement
I am a woman that is equal to any man.
I will not cry.
I will not let my family intrude on my ability to work.
My cycles and hormones are blocked away.
I can ignore my intuition.
If I have children, they will not need my breast and heartbeat.
I have a bottle and stuffy for that.
I can stay thin and wrinkle-free, my grey hair painted away.
I can do it all to fit into a society that has created a world
where to be valued; my time needs to make a profit.

Where it ends
Your sorrow is undeniable
however, it did not begin with you
the essence was there from the beginning
waiting for a time to cultivate within you
tell me where the sorrow lays still
I will place my hands there
breath until it vanishes
until you feel safe
we may never find where your sorrow began
but we now know where it ends
however, it did not begin with you
the essence was there from the beginning
waiting for a time to cultivate within you
tell me where the sorrow lays still
I will place my hands there
breath until it vanishes
until you feel safe
we may never find where your sorrow began
but we now know where it ends
